Carlo Parolisi

Carlo Parolisi is the Global Head of Operational Intelligence and Senior Advisor Operational Intelligence at Excursus Group, an Italian firm specializing in corporate and strategic intelligence. His current responsibilities involve guiding strategic intelligence operations.^[1] Prior to his engagement with Excursus Group, Parolisi accumulated decades of experience in intelligence and security, serving in various operational and managerial capacities within Italian national intelligence agencies.^[1]

His distinguished career in public service includes roles as a Police Official, with service in anti-terrorism sections, and subsequent leadership positions within the SISDe (Service for Information and Democratic Security) and later the SISMi (Military Intelligence and Security Service), which became AISE (Agency for Information and External Security).^[1] During this period, he held strategic assignments both in Italy and internationally, including leading the Counter-espionage Division of AISE.^[3]

Following his extensive public sector tenure, Parolisi transitioned to corporate security, serving as Chief Security Officer for Finmeccanica UK for two years after his retirement from public service in 2014.^[1] He is also an educator, lecturing on intelligence and security management at several Italian universities.^[1] His expertise extends to contemporary issues, as evidenced by his publication "IA EUROPEA: SVILUPPO, ETICA E CONTESTO GLOBALE" in November 2025, which addresses the development and ethical considerations of AI in a global context.^[3]
