Federico Faggin (Vicenza, 1941) è il fisico e inventore italiano che ha progettato il primo microprocessore commerciale al mondo, l'Intel 4004 (1971). Mentre lavorava alla Fairchild Semiconductor nel 1968 aveva già creato la tecnologia MOS silicon gate, che ha reso possibili i chip di memoria a semiconduttore, i sensori d'immagine e il microprocessore stesso. Guidò poi lo sviluppo dell'Intel 8008 e 8080, e fu cofondatore e CEO di Zilog — la prima azienda interamente dedicata ai microprocessori — dove guidò la creazione del leggendario Z80. Nel 1986 cofondò Synaptics, da cui nacquero il touchpad e il touchscreen che hanno trasformato il modo in cui usiamo i dispositivi mobili. Tra i suoi riconoscimenti, la National Medal of Technology and Innovation, ricevuta nel 2010 dalle mani del Presidente Obama, e il Premio Enrico Fermi 2014. Since 1993, Professor Ventre has been with the University of Naples Federico II, where he leads the COMICS research group, dedicated to computer networking and multimedia communications. Professor Ventre has been instrumental in various technology transfer initiatives. He co-founded ITEM, a national research laboratory of the Italian National University Consortium on Informatics (CINI), serving as its director for several periods. From 2004 to 2011, he was President and CEO of CRIAI, a research company focused on computer and system engineering. His efforts have also led to the creation of several high-tech spin-off and startup companies, including Tipic, Meetecho, NM2, and Intertwine. He also manages Campania NewSteel, a startup incubator and accelerator. With over 200 co-authored publications, Professor Ventre's research spans areas such as multimedia content provisioning, traffic engineering, wireless networking, and mobile applications. He is an Area Editor for the Computer Networks Journal (Elsevier) and has served on the steering and program committees of numerous international conferences and workshops. Ettore De Lorenzo, a journalist born in Torre del Greco 57 years ago. Son of Dino, a correspondent for Il Mattino, he entered journalism as a child and signed his first article at 16 for Il Mattino dei giovani. At 19, he worked for Teleoggi's news program (Tg) and collaborated with numerous publications (Il Mattino, Il Roma, La Repubblica, Il Giorno, Paese Sera, radio stations, and economic monthlies). He became a professional journalist in 1990 at the daily newspaper Il Roma. After the newspaper's failure (1992), he traveled the world as a reporter for three years: South Africa, Somalia, Cuba, Senegal, USA, with publications in L'Unità, Il Mattino, and Rai. In 1995, he joined Rai (permanently hired only 11 years later): he covered investigations, social issues, news, and sports, became a correspondent in 2012, and created successful columns. Since 2005, he has been the voice of basketball on Radio1 for Serie A and the National team. In parallel, he has an intense cultural activity: he founded the Napoli Strit Festival (1999, for ten years), was spokesperson for the Mayor of Naples (2000), wrote the book "Quando avevo 20 anni" (When I was 20) about Falcone and Borsellino in 2012, teaches, directs festivals and theatrical formats (Sala d'Attesa at the Napoli Teatro Festival), and created the multi-award-winning web series "Gaetano è tornato" (Gaetano is back).
