Fatmir Velaj

Fate Velaj is the Ambassador of the Republic of Albania to Austria since June 2024. An eclectic figure in the European landscape, for years he has combined institutional commitment with a rich career as an artist, photographer, and writer. Previously a Member of the Albanian Parliament (2017-2021) and Advisor to the Prime Minister for Cultural Diplomacy, he graduated in Art and Cultural Management in Vienna. For his tireless contribution to intercultural dialogue, he was awarded the Golden Cross of Merit and the title of Professor by the Republic of Austria.
