Liina Suvi Ristoja is Head of Strategic Communication at e-Residency, Estonia's pioneering digital identity programme, which allows entrepreneurs across the world to create an EU company in the country and run it online, with no appointment and no notary visit. More than 144,000 e-residents from over 187 countries have founded over 44,000 Estonian companies, and e-residents now account for close to one in five of all new companies registered in Estonia each year.

Estonia is a country of 1.3 million people, known as the world's most advanced digital society and for moving all of its public services online. Signatures are digital, and a company can be registered from another continent without ever setting foot in the country. The next frontier is AI. Estonia is now exploring ways to let AI agents act on its citizens' and e-residents' behalf in a safe, controlled and auditable way.
