Biography

Mirko Perano serves as an Associate Professor within the Department of Management & Innovation Systems at the Università di Salerno, Italy. His academic and research endeavors are primarily focused on strategic management, knowledge management, risk management, and business ethics, with a particular emphasis on their intersection with digital transformation and sustainability.[4]

Dr. Perano holds a double PhD, earned from the Università di Roma “La Sapienza” in Italy and the University of Huelva in Spain. Prior to his current appointment, he held the positions of Vice-Rector and Head of the Department of Management at Reald University College in Albania.[2] His teaching portfolio at the Università di Salerno includes courses in Business Ethics, Management Systems, Strategic Management, and Knowledge and Risk Management.[2] A prolific scholar, Dr. Perano has authored over 50 works published in peer-reviewed journals and edited volumes.[5] His research has appeared in prominent publications such as the Journal of Business Research and Technological Forecasting and Social Change, contributing to discussions on supply chain digitalization, ethical decision-making, and organizational ambidexterity.[5] His contributions have garnered over 1,300 citations, reflecting the impact of his work within the academic community.[4] Beyond his extensive publication record, Dr. Perano is the founder and director of the "Knowledge and Risk Management, Ethics for Sustainable Strategic Management (K.R.E.S.S.M. Lab)" at the Università di Salerno, an international research center dedicated to exploring the complexities of knowledge management, risk, and ethics in strategic decision-making.[4] He also directs the IRG: KNOWLEDGE AND RISK MANAGEMENT FOR SECURITY AND INTELLIGENCE IN DIGITAL CONTEXTS (KRiMSID).[1] His commitment to academic rigor was recognized with the Outstanding Reviewer award in the 2023 Emerald Literati Awards for his contributions to the Journal of Knowledge Management.[1] He further serves as an Associate Editor for academic journals, including Business Ethics, the Environment & Responsibility.[1][5]
